Legal consequences of choosing the Unitary Patent:

• The Unified Patent Court is the only competent court for enforcement of your UP. A UP cannot be opted out.
• The UP is a unitary title. The patent owner is the same for all UP countries. It is not possible to assign the UP to another company for only part of the UP territory (although licensing is possible).
• If the UP is revoked by a decision of the UPC, it is revoked for all the UP countries at once.
